The Baye Fall are a distinctive branch of the Mouride brotherhood, founded in Senegal by Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, also known as Serigne Touba. Known for their deep devotion, unique way of life, and strong values of solidarity, they embody a spirituality rooted in work, prayer, and service.

Following the teachings of Cheikh Ibrahima Fall, a disciple of Bamba, the Baye Fall view daily effort as a true form of prayer. Their faith is expressed through action: cultivating the land, building, providing, and helping others. Their appearance, marked by colorful clothing and dreadlocks, reflects a philosophy of material detachment and spiritual freedom.

Over the course of two years spent alongside the disciples of Serigne Abdou Karim Mbacké, a descendant of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, I followed this community, easily recognized by their white-and-blue dress code. Through this photographic series, I explore the dialogue between faith and aesthetics, capturing the mystical radiance of devotion and the inner light that emanates from those who live their spirituality fully in daily life.
