What would Africa be today without 400 years of slavery and 200 years of colonization? Probably very different from the continent we know. In this photographic series entitled “The Missing Link”, I imagined an Africa that had gone through a long period of stagnation, during which it lost control of its destiny, and now must reinvent itself on the ruins of multiple external influences.

This is my vision of Afrofuturism: not merely a projection of the Western world onto an African context, but that of a continent rich in its own resources, drawing on its endogenous knowledge to reinvent itself and imagine its future. Through these images, I seek to question the present in the light of a disrupted past, while opening a window onto the possibilities of an Africa reclaiming its history and imagination.
